spiritIn 1997, I found a furry bundle of love at a Ford dealership while working for Ford Motor Company. I named him Spirit and took him home.

Spirit had a lot of medical challenges, and in caring for him, I realized that I wanted to be a veterinarian and do for others what his amazing doctors were doing for him. I quit my job at Ford, started at Family Pet Animal Hospital, and returned to school. In 2004, I graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine.

Not only was Spirit the love of my life, but he forever changed my life for the better. To carry on Spirit’s legacy of changing lives for the better, Compassionate Care Animal Hospital has created the “Spirit’s Legacy Fund.” The Spirit’s Legacy fund is a 501(c) (3) fund intended to help families who cannot treat their animal’s medical conditions for financial reasons.
